Krill Oil?
Yes, krill oil is a great way of getting the omega 3-FA’s that we need for both brain and body health. Krill oil may be helpful for everything from Depression, PMS and Menopause to High Cholesterol and Arthritis.
The main difference between krill as a source for omega 3′s and fish is that is has a higher phospholipid content which may make it better for your brain. Phospholipids are a major component of cell membranes. It also has a very powerful antioxidant, Astaxanthin, which helps to trap free radicals. Antioxidants are great to help maintain cell health. Astaxanthin is being touted as a great antioxidant! ORAC tests (measure antioxidant levels/power) show that krill oil has up to 300 times the antioxidant capacity of vitamin A or E alone.
Krill oil can help with cardiovascular health, has Neuroprotective benefits, enhances sports performance, can provide eye support, contribute to skin health and has great anti-inflammatory benefits as well.
